Organized as a Methodist Episcopal Church in 1832, First Church is a dynamic and growing church in Sylacauga Alabama.  The vision we want to realize is to be constantly engaged in ministry for Jesus Christ.

A Little History

There have been four church buildings, the last two located on Spring Street. The current building was erected in three stages. The Fellowship Hall was completed in 1952, the Sanctuary in 1957, and the Education Building in the early 1960’s.
Outstanding church leaders have come from FUMC. The hallway outside the archive room is lined with pictures of those who have answered the called, were educated, and ordained for ministry in the United Methodist Church. They include pastors, missionaries, professors of religion, and current students.
