Family

We believe that the family must come first.  Not just your immediate family, but your church family.  We try to serve the needs of adults, youth, and the kids.  We have focused ministries for everyone to try and help you reach God in a way that is relevant and makes sense.

Adults

We believe the spiritual growth and vitality of our youth and children are based upon and dependent upon the vitality and spiritual growth of our adults of all ages and it all stages of life.

Sylacauga FUMC embraces cross-generational ministries that help us learn from and be a blessing to one another. To help the adults of our church grow we invite them to join the mission of the church to bring people to Jesus, build up believers, and bless our world.

We offer Small Groups,  Bible Studies, Sunday School, Disciple Training, and support the Walk to Emmaus retreat.  We believe that by using your time and talents in service and ministry you can grow your faith and build lasting relationships at First Church!

Counseling Services.

Ginny Archer is a Licensed Professional Counselor and her ministry is available through First United Methodist Church. Ginny may be reached by calling the church and her extension is #30.

Children

We believe that children can be Disciples too. We know they're God's gifts to us and that they are incredibly valuable.

We offer parents significant help in bringing their children to Christ through our many Bible Studies, Sunday School classes, Wednesday night programs, Children’s Church, our Fine Arts Academy, our Scouting ministries and our Kindergarten.

Our church family includes many children and we want you to know we are committed to loving and nurturing your children in their faith.

Youth

The Student Ministry of First United Methodist Church is an odd mix of fun people who are passionately trying to depend upon GOD and experience true life. We have great times together while doing the right thing.

We think the church is more than a mission statement, it is a way of life. The youth programs of FUMC are available to all young adults as they enter their 7th grade year of school and continue until graduation from high school. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for spiritual growth and development.

The youth meet on Wednesday and Sunday nights at 6pm for worship and/or study.  Times of fellowship are Wednesday and Sunday afternoons before and after the study time, and are subject to change.
